About me
Blake Haygood works with gifted learners as GT Coordinator in Austin ISD. He is also the parent of a PG student and the current Parent Representative on the Board for the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented. For his work with GT learners, he was named the TAGT Advocate of the Year in 2022. Prior to his work with gifted learners and GT Advocacy, he taught math at the secondary level for 8 years and eventually moved into a district-level specialist position. Every new role highlighted the (often overlooked) SEL needs of GT learners--an inherently neurodiverse and asynchronous population. Blake dedicates most of his time to researching and practicing ways to meet the needs of the spectrum of gifted learners in his life.
